Firetide (News – Alert), a provider of wireless infrastructure mesh networks that enable concurrent video, voice, and data, forecast a 50 percent revenue growth in 2011 over 2010.

The growth of multimedia applications, mobile devices and converging markets are fueling demand for Firetide wireless infrastructure, company officials said.

Firetide’s wireless LANs and point-to-point bridges enhance core MIMO infrastructure mesh products. These are creating immense opportunities for Firetide in commercial, transportation and government markets.

The company claims that Firetide is the only company with a single wireless infrastructure that can support live, large-scale video, voice, and data services to meet the demands of converging technology and market trends.

Information technology managers are finding that Firetide’s wireless network delivers the high performance (up to 300 Mbps) needed to scale and support bandwidth-intensive voice, video and data applications on a metro- and campus-wide scale.

“In 2010, Firetide built upon its high performance, wireless infrastructure mesh to provide end-to-end wireless solutions that can scale and support multiple services and applications in fixed and mobile environments, indoors and outdoors,” said Bo Larsson, CEO of Firetide, in a statement.

Revenue in 2011 is expected to be evenly split between government and commercial markets. The company expects 20 percent of its revenue to come from key EM partners like NETGEAR for WLAN controller products aimed at SMB space; and Aclara for utilities infrastructure.

Firetide grew 30 percent in 2010 over the previous year. The company maintained its technology leadership through innovation and new product introductions, investing over 30 percent of revenues annually on research and development.

In related news, Firetide announced the universal availability of its innovative MIMO 802.11n HotPort 7000 product line along with Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2 certification – NIST certificate No. 1370.
