“Operational excellence is of paramount importance at Unirac and is why we pursued ISO 9001:2008 certification,” said Richard Welch, Unirac’s Chief Operations Officer. “We’re delighted to have earned the ISO 9001:2008 registration, but more importantly, we’re pleased to have in place the global processes necessary to continuously improve Unirac’s service quality on a quantifiable and demonstrable basis. As the market matures, more and more of our customers are demanding proof of our processes and systems. This certification is a huge step in the direction to not only meet, but exceed our customers’ expectations.”
ISO 9001:2008 certification represents an international consensus on good management practices. It ensures the use of effective processes, which are consistently monitored and continually improved, with the aim of ensuring that an organization can repeatedly deliver products and services that meet the customer’s quality requirements. As part of the certification process, Unirac demonstrated to its auditors an enterprise-wide understanding of the ISO 9001:2008 standard and sound, documented management processes.
Unirac began the ISO 9001:2008 certification process in early 2010. The company executed internal audits across the business and customer support organizations. An independent auditing agency conducted certification audits in September and October of this year, yielding the November 2010 certification recognition.
