In an effort to provide full broadcast video scheduling, automation, playback, bulletin board, and Internet VOD in a single server to hyperlocal and community broadcasters, TelVue Corporation, a provider of broadcast video playback and automation solutions, has integrated full support for its PEG.TV Internet video-on-demand “VOD” service into its Princeton line of broadcast servers.

The company’s PEG.TV is an Internet based VOD and Live streaming video service tailored specifically for local communities and municipal government broadcasters. With the help of PEG.TV, the broadcaster can easily post community’s live events, unique programming, town council meetings as well as local sporting events to the website. In addition, it provides a broadcaster with complete control over how the content will look on the web through branded video player.

The Princeton series of broadcast servers facilitate hyperlocal broadcasters to achieve the same results as studios with larger staffs and bigger budgets, according to TelVue. The series includes: Digital Broadcaster servers that are digital video playout systems; MPEG encoders for digital video file ingest; Archive servers for digital video storage; and transcoders for multi-format transcoding workstation.

According to the release, integrating support for PEG.TV will facilitate hyperlocal and community broadcasters with access to seamless workflow between broadcast server content management and Internet VOD hosting. This eliminates the need for external transcoders to prepare files or enter metadata in more than one place.

Company officials said that the new integrated service supports auto transcoding and uploading of both live captured events and ingested files. Broadcasters will have to select files in TelVue Princeton’s web application for publishing videos and single-click to export to their website. With this, community viewers can watch on-demand via the PEG.TV media player.

The company’s new integrated offering features enhanced navigation to allow web viewers to go directly to the chapter of a long video, and keyword-driven search so that viewers can easily find specific video content online.

Jesse Lerman, president and CEO of TelVue, said, “By integrating support for our PEG.TV live Internet streaming and VOD service into our TelVue Princeton line of broadcast servers, TelVue furthers its ability to offer the best workflow, and the most scalable, cross-platform Internet video solution designed for hyperlocal and community broadcasters.”

TelVue is serving more than 550 TV broadcast outlets including Professional Broadcasters, Cable, Telco, K-12, Higher Education, and PEG channels with broadcast technology solutions.

According to the release, TelVue will be demonstrating the new integrated offering at the upcoming ACM Regional / Jersey Access Group Conference 2010  in New Brunswick, NJ.
