Tastykake Opens Largest LEED Bakery in the World in Philadelphia
Tastykake opened the world’s largest LEED bakery in the world at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. The facility is a reuse of any existing structure and the facility has lots of green technology. It is going for LEED Silver certification.
Green features include a white roof, solar panels on the roof and bike racks to encourage carbon free commuting.
Additionally … ” No-mow, drought-resistant grass that uses less water … using environmentally friendly refrigerants to minimize … global warming … access to public transportation … heat-recycling system, … products are packed in recyclable cartons and cases that save trees.”
