Strange phenomenon with energy saving light bulb – Infrared?

Does anyone know what is causing this? The energy saving light bulb started to flash a couple of days ago and is now not as bright as the others. It is causing the infrared reciever light on my screen to trigger as if I am using the remote control. There is no trace of infrared coming from the broken light, I have tested it with an infra red camera. UPDATE: I have just realised that whatever is coming out of this bulb is not affected by any obstruction. I can place my whole body in front of the IR reciever and the red light still flashes! Also turn the volume up at 0:50 to hear that strange noise the camera is picking up XRAYS! AGGHHH

Legislation has been passed for 2012 to reduce energy wasting incandescent light bulbs for more energy efficient bulbs like CFL and halogen. From 2012 to 2014, 40 to 100 watt light bulbs will need to use 30 percent less energy than the incandescent bulbs use today. So, in 2012, 100 watt bulbs will no longer by manufactured. In 2013, 75 watt light bulbs will be phased out and so on. Now, you might ask what bulbs you should look for instead… GE has several different types of energy efficient light bulbs that you can use to help reduce energy consumption in your home.
