snom technology AG, a developer and manufacturer of advanced VoIP phones for enterprise and residential markets, has announced its technology is interoperable with headsets from VXi Corporation.
Officials with snom technology said that VXi Corporation’s corded headset products are approved for use with all of snom’s desktop VoIP phones.

Company officials said that snom’s interoperability includes the VXi Passport 10V, the Passport 21V and the Tria V noise-canceling headsets, all of which provide HD sound from a computer or a snom desktop phone.

VXi’s suite of wireless headsets are expected to be tested in the near future.

“VXi’s headsets are among the most popular units available and the company has gained considerable penetration into the contact center and business markets,” said Dr. Michael Knieling, executive vice president of marketing and sales for snom technology AG (News – Alert), in a statement.

Knieling said that a core philosophy of snom is to achieve broad interoperability with best of breed technology and accessories partners, and this new relationship with VXi continues the tradition.

According to company officials, the interoperability of snom phones and VXi headsets gives VXi customers access to snom’s broad suite of VoIP phones, including the touchscreen snom 870 and the recently released snom 821.

For snom customers and resellers, the partnership provides another industry-leading product in their arsenal of complementary products.

“The partnership with snom is a win-win for our mutual companies, our partners and customers,” said Michael Ferguson, CEO and president of VXi.

Ferguson said that by combining VXi’s high-quality noise-canceling headset solutions with snom’s cost-effective VoIP phones, users receive superior call quality and enhanced security at an exceptional value.
TMCnet recently reported that snom technology AG has launched the snom 821, a new desktop IP phone with all the advanced functionality and interoperability of other snom 8xx series phones, as well as a new integrated gigabit switch.

Officials with snom said that the snom 821 comes in both light and dark colors, just like its big brother the snom 870.

The snom 821 is expected to be fully available in the United States by the end of the second quarter.
