A major retail store is to reduce its impact on the environment by enhancing its printing services in the corporate offices.
The Co-operative has agreed a deal with printing company Xerox which will cut costs and wastage.
Xerox will implement several changes in order to improve the firm’s energy efficiency in terms of printing.
The company expects to reduce energy usage for printing by 20 per cent through cutting down the “Co-operative’s print volume while simultaneously limiting the organisation’s paper and ink usage”.
Kevin Foley, resource and planning manager at the Co-operative Group, commented: “This deal brings with it two major benefits – it means major cost savings for our business and at the same time, it helps our environmental agenda.”
By using the Xerox ColorQube 9200 printers, the offices will also be able to reduce their wastage.
The printer uses solid ink which means there is no need for cartridges, which produces 90 per cent less waste, according to the firm.
