In a release, Pete Hayes, Frontier Communications’ Executive Vice President for Commercial Sales and Support said, “Our commercial business is positioned for increased growth and profitability as Enterprise, Public Sector, Medium and Small Businesses customers seek cost-effective end-to-end solutions. Our Commercial segment has great market potential, an outstanding group of existing and potential customers and a solid business pipeline.”

He added that Frontier’s service capabilities, geographic coverage and customer demand will be increased with the planned completion of the company’s transformational transaction with Verizon (News – Alert) Communications on July 1.

Hayes mentioned Frontier’s following highlights in the Commercial Business Sector: Pennsylvanian based Penn Foster selected Frontier for deploying Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) for 63 sites. The company mentioned Frontier’s committed relationship, system design/deployment and financial flexibility as the critical reason for its selection.

First Columbia Bank in Pennsylvania has also chosen Frontier for deploying MPLS for a nine-site network. The company shifted to Frontier because of the company’s responsiveness, design plans and value positioning.

AICUP (Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of PA) has given Frontier the contract for Internet Access and a Wide Area Network (WAN) consortium of 13 institutions of higher education in northeast and southeast Pennsylvania.

The Bulloch County School District in Georgia has awarded Frontier a contract for installing a VoIP communications system for a network of 22 schools. The Fairmont School District in Minnesota wanted to increase its capabilities but on a fixed budget. Frontier met its requirements and offered it a high-quality design which was an upgrade of Centrex to District Wide Communications to Premise Based VoIP.

In Arizona, Frontier worked in close association with the local police and emergency centers for installing call processing solutions which installs PBXs at Public Safety Answering Points.

Frontier also installed seven Mitel (News – Alert) 3300 PBXs for the Kingman an Arizona Unified School District, allowing 4-digit dialing throughout a district which serves 7,200 students. The school district’s purchase was mainly due to a strong relationship with Frontier’s local account manager and its local operations, advanced technology and responsiveness.

Frontier has installed the Mitel 3300 phone system, at the Sunrise Ski Resort in Arizona’s White Mountains, which flawlessly links the resort’s lodge and hotel.
