Panduit to Bring Value to Uptime Institute Symposium

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Panduit is a company focused on delivering a sustainable, unified approach to data centers and the entire enterprise to reduce space and power consumption for leaner operations in nearly every industry. Panduit has developed the unified physical infrastructure (UPI) approach in delivering solutions to customers and has demonstrated the value of this approach in its LEED Gold Certified New World Headquarters.

An extension of Panduit’s UPI vision is its participation in the Uptime Institute Symposium. Positioned as one of the most influential events in the IT and data center operator space, the Uptime Institute Symposium is the only event focused solely on data center efficiency and green enterprise IT.

Given Panduit’s approach to sustainable networks that are innovative, agile and cost effective, their involvement in the Symposium is perfectly placed as it attracts shareholders in enterprise IT, finance, executive management, data center facilities and corporate real estate. Symposium attendees seek to investigate critical issues surrounding enterprise computing, resource and energy efficiency, availability and productivity.

Scores of presentations, roundtables and panel discussions will be included in this year’s Symposium, set to take place at the Hilton New York, May 17-19, 2010. Attendees will also enjoy opportunities to book time with peers, leading analysts and consultants. An exhibition hall will be available with hundreds of products designed to improve energy and resource efficiency in the data center and throughout the enterprise.

Panduit brings significant value to the Symposium due to its performance in the industry and the demonstrated sustainable design of its new World Headquarters. Panduit built its new building around its UPI approach, focusing on connected building solutions to create an environment to drive productivity while also preserving resources.

Historically, IT and data centers were separate entities, yet Panduit believed they should be a put together to co-exist and work together. In essence, the physical layer to the logical layer should be mapped together. Companies need to take a look at consolidating the environment to become more efficient. In taking a unified approach, the company can achieve the creation of the smart data center.

Panduit believes in this approach so strongly that the company not only market solutions to make this happen within their client environments, they designed their new World Headquarters around this philosophy. This approach demonstrates the value of their solutions in aligning and harmonizing critical systems, such as power, communication, computing, security and control, throughout the entire enterprise.

Attendees to the Uptime Institute Symposium will gain an inside look at Panduit solutions, enjoying a real-time demonstration of the UPI approach to sustainable solutions.
