Members of the house building industry and key policy makers will meet this week to discuss issues of sustainability, construction and the built environment at Ecobuild, which runs until March 3rd.
The conference will feature lectures, exhibits and events in three areas: sustainable construction, design and architecture in sustainability and the future of sustainability.
Speakers will include minister for energy and climate change Greg Barker, while professionals will also be able to pick up tips on renewable energy installations and how to make existing homes more energy efficient, from using sustainable materials to new technologies.
Developer Bill Dusnter’s NaturalZED straw house concept will also be on display, built for £135,000 and achieving Level 6 of the Code for Sustainable Homes, while other exhibits will include ways to green a city and boost biodiversity and address water conservation issues in the construction process.
In addition, the BREEAM Awards will take place on March 2nd, held at the conference, recognising the highest-scoring buildings under the assessment method.
