AudioCodes (News – Alert), a provider of VoIP technologies and voice network products, announced the appointment of Guy Avidan as the company’s new vice president of finance and chief financial officer.
Avidan served MRV (News – Alert) Communications Inc. for nearly 15 years in various managerial positions. From September 2001 to July 2007, he served as VP and GM at MRV. He also served as CFO between 2007 and 2009, and recently co-president at MRV.
Prior to joining MRV Communications (News – Alert), Avidan served as VP of finance and CFO of Ace North Hills from 1992 to 1995.
Avidan is a CPA in Israel and holds a B.A. degree in Economics and Accounting from Haifa University.
AudioCodes designs, develops and sells advanced Voice over IP “VoIP” and converged VoIP and data networking products and applications to service providers and enterprises. The company is focused on converged VoIP and data communications.
The company offers media gateways, multi-service business gateways, session border controllers, residential gateways, IP phones, media servers and value added applications. Its products are deployed in broadband, mobile, cable, and enterprise networks.
Recently, AudioCodes and Avaya (News – Alert) come together to deliver a hybrid solution, which provides many of the benefits of centralized architectures. A completely centralized approach in which all of the network smarts are at the headquarters can lead to a scenario in which an office is left without connectivity. It also puts some smarts out at the branch offices to allow them to retain connectivity even if the wide area network goes dark.
