The UK boasts hundreds of green opportunities in terms of jobs, energy and the economy, a thinktank has claimed.
A green investment bank is the ideal means to achieve low carbon status while boosting economic growth, the Green Alliance said.
Its senior policy advisor, Amy Persson, welcomed the new coalition government and called on the Conservative-Liberal Democrat team to focus on the green economy.
“David Cameron and Nick Clegg have shown strong leadership within their parties on climate change issues and we urge them to continue this leadership as they face the huge task of overseeing the UK’s transition to a low carbon economy,” she added.
