Florida Renewable Energy Tour finishes in Orlando on Saturday

By Mike Antheil   |   2011-02-25 12:31:00.0 Orlando, FL The 2011 Florida Renewable Energy Tour has visited 9 cities so far in Florida, featuring daytime visits to solar and renewable energy facilities and evening Town Halls with local and state legislators.

The Tour concludes this Saturday the 26th in Orlando, FL. The morning will begin at solar manufacturer BlueChip Energy and feature a Tesla Roadster on display. The next site visit is to a commercial solar array and energy efficiency “proving ground” at the headquarters of Tri-City Electric. After that the tour will visit the Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) solar array, and then see the solar charging station and electric vehicle at University of Central Florida. The day will end with a Town Hall at UCF’s Communications Building from 2 to 4 pm. The Town Hall will feature discussion on upcoming legislation and how to create local jobs and grow local economies through renewable energy development.
