Web forwarding….?

Randomly, and I really do mean randomly, when I try to visit some sites, I get a page that says “www.domainsponsor.com……this domain is for sale…..”. And these are sites like hotmail, or msn.com or sometimes even yahoo’s home page. If I go to a different computer, it works fine. A couple hours later, it’ll probably work fine too. I have and have run the latest versions of Ad-aware, Symantec antivirus, and Spybot and none of them find anything. My roommate is a system administrator so he knows alot about computers (although he wont’ ask other people for help cause he’s stubborn like that, but I will) and even he can figure out what this is. The actual website loading on these pages is landing.domainsponsor.com. Any have any ideas?

Ok, so a while ago, I was watching the science channel, and they were discussing this technology that could revolutionize the way we keep things cool. It was shaped like a plus + sign, and was fat and cylindrical. It used Helium in the chamber, and really loud sounds (louder than jet engine, I believe they said) to cause the helium to vibrate and oscillate, and this somehow produced a really high temperature, and a really low temperature extreme on opposite ends of the helium. They channeled away the hot air, and used to cool air to…well…cool things, lol. Does anyone know what i’m talking about? I’d like to know what its name is, and any YouTube videos related to it.

Qantas A380 incident far more serious than originally reported

It appears from various press reports that the emergency landing of Qantas A380 Flight # QF32 was far more serious than the initial press reports. The engine explosion was monitored by the cockpit, but an alert off-duty pilot spotted additional problems being broadcast from a tail-mounted camera. That was the beginning of a string of failures, however the pilot and crew managed to land the plane safely.

Pilots of a crippled Qantas Airbus A380 superjumbo struggled with more than a dozen system errors after an engine blew apart on November 4 and landed the plane in Singapore with barely any runway to spare, an Australian investigation showed.

In fact, the plane may have been so badly damaged that the five pilots, with a combined 72,000 hours of flying experience, may have saved the day.

As crew moved through the plane to assure passengers that all would be well, they were alerted to the video playing through the onboard entertainment system from a camera in the tail of the plane.

But while several system warnings went off in the cockpit, the fuel leak was only spotted when a Qantas pilot, traveling as a passenger, saw the trail in an image broadcast from a camera mounted on the plane.

The picture showed the Airbus was leaving a trail of fluid behind — most likely fuel and perhaps hydraulic fluid — from a puncture through the wing.

As the plane lost fuel quickly, its centre of gravity also started to shift, presenting another problem. But the crew could not move fuel as required as it was not clear how badly the fuel system was damaged, the report said.

Meanwhile, the veteran pilot was going through the plane’s checklist to find out what his real situation was at altitude and what his alternatives were to land the aircraft.

Captain de Crespigny, a veteran of 35 years, was commanding a giant of cutting-edge technology that started flying commercially only three years ago: his aircraft, with more than 8000 hours in the air, entered service in September 2008 as Qantas’ first A380.

Shutting down the damaged engine, Captain de Crespigny broadcast a PAN-PAN alert – warning of urgency rather than the imminent danger of a Mayday – asked for a priority landing and, with the jet trailing smoke, circled Singapore dumping fuel and preparing to land.

The problems were just beginning. Fuel couldn’t be dumped because of weight and balance issues and the super-jumbo jet weight was calculated to be within the stopping distance required at Singapore, just barely. Plus, onboard controls had been damaged by the engine explosion.

With the plane coming in at 440 tons, about 50 tons heavier than its maximum landing weight, the computer eventually concluded it would stop with just 100 meters of runway to spare at Singapore’s Changi Airport, the report said.

But 100 meters was enough for the crew and they opted to land instead of dumping fuel, which would further upset the plane’s balance.

The A380 “remained controllable” as its prepared to land, but it lost many of its systems which controlled pitch, speed and braking, so pilots asked the cabin crew to prepare for an emergency evacuation as they risked a runway overrun, it said.

The Airbus stopped with just 150 metres of concrete left, brakes heated to 900 degrees Celsius and four blown tires.

But the problems didn’t end there. After deciding not to evacuate the passengers, the outer engine on the same wing as the damaged engine refused to shut down. “It was gushing fuel and one of its engines refused to shut down for over two hours, until fire crews drowned it with foam.”

The investigation and following court cases will proceed. However, this was an emergency landing where, overall, everything went well and the crew responded expertly. Looking back on the situation is clearly scarier than it seemed when the super-jumbo landed.

Working from his home office in a small town in England, Darren Williams spent four weeks this summer making a short but startling video that raises novel questions about the 2001 attack on the Pentagon.

The video, “9/11: Pentagon Strike,” suggests that it was not American Airlines Flight 77 that slammed into the Pentagon, but a missile or a small plane.

With rock music as a backdrop, the video offers flashes of photographs taken shortly after impact, interspersed with witness accounts. The pictures seem incompatible with damage caused by a jumbo jet, and no one mentions seeing one. Red arrows point to unbroken windows in the burning building. Firefighters stand outside a perfectly round hole in a Pentagon wall where the Boeing 757 punched through; it is less than 20 feet in diameter…

Propelled by word of mouth, Internet search engines and e-mail, the video has been downloaded by millions of people around the world.

American history is rife with conspiracy theories. Extremists have fed rumors of secret plots by Masons, bankers, Catholics and Communists. But now urban legends have become cyberlegends, and suspicions speed their way globally not over months and weeks but within days and hours on the Web.

“The dissemination is almost immediate,” said Doug Thomas, a University of Southern California communications professor who teaches classes on technology and subgroups. “It’s not just one Web site saying, ‘Hey, look at this.’ It’s 10,000 people sending e-mails to 10 friends, and then they send it on.”

The Pentagon video could be a case study. Williams created a Web site for the video, www.pentagonstrike.co.uk. Then he e-mailed a copy to Laura Knight-Jadczyk, an American author living in France whose books include one on alien abduction. Williams, 31, a systems analyst, belongs to an online group hosted by Knight-Jadczyk that blends discussions of science, politics and the paranormal.

On Aug. 23, Knight-Jadczyk posted a link to the video on the group’s Web site, www.Cassiopaea.org. Within 36 hours, Williams’s site collapsed under the crush of tens of thousands of visitors. But there were others to fill the void.

In Texas, a former casino worker who downloaded the video began drawing almost 700,000 visitors a day to his libertarian site. In Louisiana, a young Navy specialist put the video on his personal Web page, usually visited by a few friends and relatives; suddenly, the site was inundated by more than 20,000 hits. In Alberta, traffic to a cabdriver’s site shot up more than sixfold after he supplied a link to the video.

Across thousands of sites, demand for the video was so great that some webmasters solicited donations to pay for the extra bandwidth.

“Pentagon Strike” is just the latest and flashiest example of a growing number of Web sites, books and videos contending that something other than a commercial airliner hit the Pentagon.

Most make their case through the selective use of photographs and eyewitness accounts reported during the confusion of the first hours after the attack. They say they don’t know what really happened to American Airlines Flight 77 and don’t offer other explanations. The doubters say they are just asking questions that have not been answered satisfactorily.

The ready and growing audience for conspiracy theories about the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks has been particularly galling to those who worked on the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States, the bipartisan panel known as the 9/11 commission.

“We discussed the theories,” said Philip D. Zelikow, the commission’s executive director. “When we wrote the report, we were also careful not to answer all the theories. It’s like playing Whack-A-Mole. You’re never going to whack them all. They satisfy a deep need in the people who create them. What we tried to do instead was to affirmatively tell what was true and tell it adding a lot of critical details that we knew would help dispel concerns.”

… The belief that the government is lying about the Sept. 11 attacks is coming from both the right and the left. Experts say more than suspicion of the Bush administration is at work.

… David Ray Griffin considers himself an unlikely recruit to what is called the “9/11 Truth Movement.” The retired theologian, who taught religion for three decades at Claremont School of Theology, initially dismissed the notion that it was not an airliner that hit the Pentagon. But after visiting several Internet sites raising questions about the attack, he ended up writing a book. “The New Pearl Harbor,” published in the spring, argues that a Boeing 757 would have caused far more damage and left more wreckage strewn around the Pentagon.

“There are reasons why people doubt the official story,” he said. “There are photographs taken, and there is no Boeing in sight.”

Suspicions formed as the Pentagon still smoldered.

For 2 1/2 years, the attack on the Pentagon has been discussed and researched by members of Knight-Jadczyk’s online group, the Quantum Future School.

The group’s talks formed the basis for articles in which Knight-Jadczyk argues that after the attack on the World Trade Center, eyewitnesses at the Pentagon were predisposed to see a large airliner. She believes that the Pentagon was attacked by a smaller plane and that members of the Bush administration were somehow complicit because it was beneficial for war-profiteers and Israel.

Interviewed by telephone from what she said is a 17-bedroom castle outside Toulouse, where she lives with her Polish physicist husband and five children, Knight-Jadczyk acknowledged that her group is considered “fringe.”

Knight-Jadczyk, 52, a Florida native, has been a psychic and a channeler. She is now involved in experiments in what she calls “superluminal communication,” which she described as involving “time loops” that would enable people to communicate with their former selves.

Knight-Jadczyk said she never imagined anyone outside her group would ever view “Pentagon Strike.”

“The fact everybody’s been sending it to his brother and his cousin, almost frenetically, reflects the fact that there is a deep unease,” she said. “They don’t come out and say it. They don’t want to be accused of being with terrorists, anti-American or anti-patriotic. But they still feel something’s wrong.”

Bret Dean of Fort Worth said he considers it “baloney” to question whether a plane hit the Pentagon. But he also believes that the government ignored warning of the attacks.

After posting a link to the video on his libertarian site, www.freedomunderground.org, Dean recorded more than 8 million hits. At least one came from inside the Defense Department, he said.

“I don’t think the video is an instigator,” said Dean, 45, a former casino worker. “It’s a symptom. A lot of people don’t trust the government’s explanation because the government’s classified all the information.”

Asked if there were unreleased photographs of the attack that would convince the doubters, Zelikow, of the 9/11 commission, said, “No.”

“The question of whether American 77 hit the Pentagon is indisputable,” Zelikow said. “One reason you tend to doubt conspiracy theories when you’ve worked in government is because you know government is not nearly competent enough to carry off elaborate theories. It’s a banal explanation, but imagine how efficient it would need to be.”

Description of Paradise?

Our final destination is the life of the Hereafter. Where we end up, Jannah (Paradise) or Jahannam (Hell-fire) depends on what we worked towards in this life. Paradise is the aim and the hope of every Muslim. But like trying to attain any goal, in order to achieve success, one must have a well-defined plan, and it must be implemented to be successful. Allah says, “O you who believe! Be careful of (your duty to) Allah and seek means of nearness to Him and strive hard in His way that you may be successful.” [5:35] To prepare for our journey, we need to find out what our destination is like; who are its people, and most importantly, how to get there.

The Prophet, sallallahu alayhe wasallam, told us that within Paradise are things that no eyes have ever seen, nor ears have ever heard, and that things in it are beyond our imagination and comprehension, but we all have our own personal ideas of what eternal bliss would probably be like. I remember a few years ago, I overheard my niece and my nephew discussing the landscape, and the privileges of living in Jannah. My nephew was telling my niece that in Jannah, they would be able to eat all the candy that they wanted and that there would be streams of chocolate and trees of ice cream. I always tell people, that Paradise for me, would be being able to eat all the cheesecake and chocolate that I wanted, without gaining a pound. But what Allah has in store for the believers is so much more than this. He, in His Book, and through His Messenger, sallallahu alayhe wasallam, has given us a clear picture of our goal, so that we can keep it in front of us at all times. By keeping our eyes on the prize, no matter our hardships in this worldly life, we can strive that much harder to attain it.

Allah says, “And whoever desires the Hereafter and strives for it as he ought to strive and he is a believer; (as for) these, their striving shall surely be accepted.” [17:19] Allah has also described Paradise in many places in the Qur’an, so let us now take a look at what He has in store for the believers.

Description in the Qur’an of Paradise

“The description of Paradise which the Muttaqoon have been promised is that in it are rivers of water, the taste and smell of which are never changed. Rivers of milk the taste of which will remain unchanged. Rivers of wine that will be delicious to those who drink from it and rivers of clear, pure honey. For them will be every kind of fruit and forgiveness form their Lord.” [47:15]

“And their recompense shall be Paradise, and silken garments, because they were patient. Reclining on raised thrones, they will see there neither the excessive heat of the sun, nor the excessive bitter cold, (as in Paradise there is no sun and no moon). The shade will be close upon them, and bunches of fruit will hang low within their reach. Vessels of silver and cups of crystal will be passed around amongst them, crystal-clear, made of silver. They will determine the measure of them according to their wishes. They will be given a cup (of wine) mixed with Zanjabeel, and a fountain called Salsabeel. Around them will (serve) boys of perpetual youth. If you see them, you would think they are scattered pearls. When you look there (in Paradise) you will see a delight (that can not be imagined), and a Great Dominion. Their garments will be of fine green silk and gold embroidery. They will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a pure drink.” [76:12-21]

“And those foremost (In Tawheed and obedience to Allah and His Messenger in this life) will be foremost (in Paradise). They will be those nearest to Allah in the Gardens of Delight. A multitude of those (the foremost) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam) and a few of those (the foremost) will be from the later (generations). They will be reclining, face to face, on thrones woven with gold and precious stones. They will be served by immortal boys, with cups and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, from which they will have neither any headache, nor any intoxication. They will have fruit from which they may choose, and the flesh of fowls that they desire. There will be Houris with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), like preserved pearls, a reward for deeds that they used to do. They will hear no vain or sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.) but only the saying of: Salam, Salam, (greetings of peace). And those on the Right Hand, who will be those on the Right Hand? They will be among thorn-less lote-trees among Talh (banana trees) with fruits piled one above another, in long-extended shade, by constantly flowing water, and fruit in plenty, whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off. They will be on couches or thrones raised high. Verily, We have created for them (maidens) of equal age, loving (their husbands only). For those on the Right Hand.” [56:10-38]

“Verily, the dwellers of Paradise that Day, will be busy in joyful things. They and their wives will be in pleasant shade, reclining on thrones. They will have therein fruits (of all kinds), and all that they will ask for. (It will be said to them): “Salamun” (Peace be on you), a Word from the Lord, Most Merciful.” [36:55-58]

Can you imagine? Wearing the finest silk clothing and sitting on chairs made of gold and precious stones? Those who disbelieve in the words of Allah, say that this is all a fairy-tale, made up by a would-be prophet. But we know, that Allah is the Truthful and that His Messenger, sallallahu alayhe wasallam, spoke only what was revealed to from the Most Truthful. And even though Allah describes Paradise for us in the Qur’an, He still says, “So no soul knows the delights of the eyes which is hidden for them; a reward for what they did.” [32:17]

Apart from the Qur’anic descriptions of Paradise, the Prophet Muhammad, sallallahu alayhe wa sallam, would often describe Paradise to his companions. His descriptions were oftentimes so vivid and moving, that many-a-companion would hurriedly rush towards it. This was the case, as Anas narrated that the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alayhe wasallam, and his companions proceeded towards Badr and arrived there before the disbelievers (of Makkah). When the disbelievers arrived, the Messenger of Allah said, “None of you should step forward ahead of me to do anything.” Then the disbelievers advanced (towards us), and the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alayhi wasallam, said, “Rise to enter Paradise whose width is equal to the Heavens and the Earth.” Umayr Ibnul Humam al-Ansari asked, “O Messenger of Allah, is Paradise equal in width to the heavens and the earth?” He, sallallahu alayhe wasallam, said, “Yes.” Umayr said, “Bak’hin! Bak’hin!” (An Arabic word denoting excitement and astonishment) The Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alayhe wasallam, asked him, “What made you say these words: Bak’hin, Bak’hin?” He said, “Messenger of Allah, nothing but the desire to be amongst its residents.” He, sallallahu alayhe wasallam, said, “You are surely among its residents.” He then took some dates form his bag and began to eat them. Then he said, “If I were to live until I had eaten all of the dates, indeed this life would be too long.” Anas then said, “He threw away the remaining dates he had with him. He then fought (the disbelievers) until he was killed.” (Muslim)

What words could have inspired Umair and others like him to long for, and to pay the ultimate price for a place in Paradise? Let’s now take a look at what the Messenger of Allah, had to say about Paradise.

Need help with my 14th B-day party, HELP ME PLEASE!!!?

On March 14th, 2009 I really want to have a party for my b-day. I’m in 8th grade and I wanna go out with a bang. I live in brooklyn. The big things are the DJ and the place where were gonna have it. How much money do you think it would cost to get a place with a stage(or not but a stage would be nice) and a dance floor, enough for about 50-60 people. And how much do you think a DJ would cost(6Pm-10Pm). Kay, for my party how do you think I could come about it, like inviting people cause this would be my first party that I’d be inviting kids from school. What theme do you think I should do or like the colors of the decorations. My friend gave me an idea of a Hip Hop thing and I like it. I’m a little low on money right now, so here’s my idea …
I take her outside one night and we sit out on the deck and hang out, listening to cars pass by and just talking. Then later, I tell her I have a surprise and get out a ladder that I’ve garnished with flowers that leads up to my roof. I lead her up and set atop my house is a blanket laid out with a basket of fresh fruit and some wine and wine glasses … and we lay on the blanket and watch the stars while eating and drinking.

Best digital media converter?

I used my digital media converter which I downloaded for free for almost a year now. I am converting my digital camera videos from .mov to .avi files and it has been working ok. What I don’t like is the quality it converts to. As soon as it is converted and I watch it in the .avi version on Windows Media Player, the output is so much darker than the original. I cannot find a way to lighten the end product or set a setting on the media converter to make it lighter. I am therefore looking for a different converter. When it’s finished converting my dvr-ms files I cannot find the converted file, it just isn’t there! Can you think of any reason why? Is this my fault for using cheap shitty software?

I have just read an ad for Power4Home solar panel kit, and was wondering if there is an independent review for it. All the reviews are obviously written by Power4Home themselves, including “comparisons” of other DIY kits. Has anyone actually bought these books and been able to come close to building a solar panel with “parts available from the hardware store” as claimed? Photovoltaic cells are expensive, yet they claim it can be done for about $200.

I have an assignment online and I keep getting this question wrong. I used the slope equation y=mx+b, and I got (-1/2)x – 13/2 as my answer. I used three different tutorials on how to get the answer to this question, and I still don’t understand what I’m doing wrong.
