FBI Contract Testament to CapRock’s Abilities

CapRock Government solutions, a trusted and innovative specialty telecommunications and IT solutions partner for defense, intelligence and government organizations, has announced that it has been awarded a contract with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The contract is in support of FBI’s emergency restoration communications network, which is a backup for the federal bureau’s existing terrestrial connections.

Under the terms of the contract, CapRock is required to deliver round the clock network operations support and help in monitoring assistance for FBI’s remote locations.

The contract, which has a value ceiling of $50 million, was activated last month and runs through March 2015, including the base and option years.

As a result, CapRock will provide a complete solution for FBI’s Satellite Diversity Program, which supports critical communications services to law enforcement personnel and field offices nationwide.

The solutions provided will be in the form of technical design, network implementation, field services and program support, and is expected to help the customers to manage the satellite and terrestrial network in concert, thus ensuring continuity of communications for critical field operations. Its expertise as an end-to-end service provider, will hold it in good stead.

Apart from this, CapRock is also focusing on the bureau’s future connectivity and expansion requirement. To this end, it will provide the development support that is required.

Myers further added that the award further demonstrated the evolution of CapRock’s government division into a fully managed communications service provider.

As a General Services Administration Schedule 70 procurement, the government has the ability to access all of CapRock’s products and services in a single, convenient procurement vehicle. Hence FBI will always be in a position to access any of CapRock’s solutions required for the support its missions, ensuring that everything is always in working condition.

The launch of several new service solutions by CapRock, which is aiming to expand its customer portfolio, is expected to cater to the emerging needs of its government clients.

Among these is the industry’s first military-grade commercial satellite subscription service, CommandAccess, which was created as a flat fee service with no ‘per minute’ or ‘per megabyte’ charges.

The commercial-off-the-shelf service has already proven successful for customers with disaster recovery efforts, counter terrorism, and foreign policy missions, enabling improved real-time situational awareness, intelligence gathering and tactical decision making for deployed personnel.

CapRock is the world’s largest provider of fully managed VSAT services to extreme environments. Presently, the Government team supports more than thirty government agency customers and thousands of associated end-users.

In a related news release, CapRock Government Solutions (News – Alert) announced the expansion of its robust satellite and terrestrial infrastructure to include bandwidth-on-demand to more than 35 major Department of Defense locations and direct connections at 24 critical Defense Information Systems Network access points.
