EtherSpeak Chooses VoIP Enhanced Local Services from Level 3

Broomfield, Colo.-based provider of international provider of fiber-based communications services Level 3 Communications (News – Alert), Inc. has announced that it has been chosen by EtherSpeak Communications to provide wholesale voice, toll-free and VoIP enhanced local services, or “ELS.”

By operating its voice traffic on Level 3’s network, EtherSpeak will be in a position to expand its coverage area and streamline its business. In addition it will be able to deliver IP-based local and long-distance communications services to residential and business customers using broadband connections. Level 3 VoIP ELS enables a quick-to-market, cost-effective and high-quality VoIP primary-line replacement service.

“Our goal at EtherSpeak is to provide our customers with a range of highly reliable IP services including voice, fax and video, and so the quality of the network to which those services are connected is of paramount importance to us,” said Neil Darling, president of EtherSpeak Communications. “We turned to Level 3 because the company’s reliable and scalable all-IP network is a natural fit for the value we work every day to deliver to the benefit of our resellers and their customers.”

Level 3’s network includes approximately 54,000 long-haul fiber miles and 27,000 metro fiber miles in the U.S. As a result, Level 3 offers multiple low-latency options for a variety of routes. In addition, Level 3 offers direct connection to low-latency, trans-Atlantic routes with diverse landing stations to enable network security and business continuity.
