Energy efficient homes to be built in South Tyneside

A range of energy efficient homes are to be built in Rackly Way near South Tyneside.

Featuring sheltered housing, bungalows and family homes, the development will be designed to keep energy bills low.

Councillor Bill Brady, lead member of housing futures at South Tyneside Council, commented: “Providing affordable housing to meet local need is a key priority for the council.

“These new homes will be designed and constructed in an environmentally-friendly way and have lower running costs which is good news for the people who live there and excellent news for the community as a whole.”
