Electric vehicle ‘in top 100 ideas of the year’

Latest news 26 June 2010

A small electric vehicle has been named among the top 100 ideas of the year.

The THINK City was declared “the vehicle at the forefront of the national and international electric vehicle market”, by Spanish magazine Actualidad Economica.

In addition to not creating any carbon dioxide emissions during usage, the vehicle has a number of other green accolades.

The Spanish magazine highlighted the fact that 16 per cent of materials for the car are recycled and 95 per cent of those used in the construction can be reused.

Recently, the BBC used the THINK City in a documentary concerning electric vehicle infrastructure in Europe.

The team drove the car on a 4,000-mile round trip across the continent to test the practical possibilities of a non-conventional vehicle.

Kevin Dawson, senior producer of the BBC programme Electric Ride, commented: “We’ll be investigating the technology, infrastructure and political will behind the growth of electric vehicle culture.

“Our choice of car came down to practicalities. We chose the THINK City because it is a ready-to-market fully electric vehicle, with a good driving range and respectable top speed.”
