Barratt Homes is hoping that the green features of its new residential properties in Bedfordshire will prove attractive to eco-conscious buyers.
According to whathouse.co.uk, the house builder is inviting the public to the unveiling of its DeBalliol Chase development in Kempston this weekend.
A total of 52 homes will be on offer, ranging from one and two bedroom coach houses to four and five bedroom Victorian-style properties.
But the energy-saving features inside the homes are anything but Victorian.
All of the properties will be fitted with low-energy lighting, rain water butts, eco-bins and cycle racks.
Some will also benefit from solar hot water systems, helping homeowners to reduce their heating bills and cut their carbon footprint.
Paul Walker, sales director at Barratt Northampton, said: “DeBalliol Chase combined all the aesthetic features of an older property with the benefits of buying new, such as energy efficiency.”
Meanwhile, proposals for 2,000 eco-friendly homes have been submitted in Gloucestershire by developers Hunter Page Planning, the BBC reported.
