Deal agreed for energy efficient site facilities

Latest news 03 July 2010

A plant hire company has signed a two-year deal with a supplier of energy efficient site facilities.

Hewden, a specialist in plant hire, signed the deal with one of the world’s leading construction groups, Skanska.

The agreement involves the supply of temporary site accommodation across the UK and represents Skanska’s bid to continue to form long-term relationships with “partners that can provide environmentally responsible, low carbon offerings”.

Skanska will now supply accommodation units with features including double glazing, rainwater storage and additional insulation in order to improve energy efficiency.

Ben Bevan, Hewden national account manager, said: “We have worked closely with Skanska for a number of years but this latest deal further reinforces Hewden’s commitment to sustainability and the importance of health and safety accreditations.

“We look forward to developing our relationship with Skanska in the coming years.”

Andrew MacAskill of Skanska said that the company was tempted by the deal due to Hewden’s “numerous accreditations” and “stringent quality and health and safety procedures”.
