Taipei, Taiwan-based provider of video editing software, video player software, and other multimedia solutions CyberLink Corp. has announced that it is going to demonstrate its next-generation Webcam software at the Computex show this week in Taipei.

The company claims that this advanced video software will deliver never-before visual effects to consumer webcam recording software. Users can create and control virtual, computer generated objects that behave as real objects being held and manipulated by them. The application has the ability to recognize real world objects and then generate and composite a scaled 3D virtual object onto the webcam video in real-time. These virtual objects add zing to videos and video chats.

“Augmented reality is one of the most exciting new technologies, and it is a perfect fit for Cyberlink’s video creation software applications,” said Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink. “This is our first application to incorporate 3D augmented reality in a way that is fun, fascinating, and easy for everyone to enjoy. It’s just one example of how CyberLink intends to lead the way when it comes to delivering fun and exciting new features that empower the creativity of consumers.”
