Comtech Xicom Technology, Inc., Santa Clara, Cali.-based subsidiary of Comtech Telecommunications Corp. and a major player in high-power amplifiers and manufacturer of a wide variety of tube-based and solid-state power amplifiers for military and commercial satellite uplink applications has received orders aggregating $12.0 million addressing the needs of multiple customers for different applications.

Officials with Comtech said that the first order was for $6.7 million and was for state-of-the-art high-power Ka-band frequency amplifiers addressing the rapidly growing broadband satellite services market.
Company officials said that the second order was for $4.0 million for Ka-band products for commercial Direct-to-Home (DTH) satellite services. The third order, which was a follow-on order, was for $1.3 million and was for high-power amplifiers supporting strategic airborne combinations.

“We believe the receipt of these orders is a validation of our one-stop shopping approach which allows our current and prospective customers to choose from an extensive portfolio of products used in a broad-array of applications and end-markets”, said Fred Kornberg, president and chief executive officer of Comtech Telecommunications (News – Alert) Corp. in a statement.
Kornberg said that the company continues to demonstrate its ability to successfully offer innovative products to address the unique requirements of different customers.

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. designs, develops, produces and markets products, systems and services for advanced communications solutions. The company believes many of its solutions play a vital role in providing or enhancing communication capabilities when terrestrial communications infrastructure is unavailable, inefficient or too expensive.

The company conducts business through three complementary segments: telecommunications transmission, mobile data communications and RF microwave amplifiers.
