CEITEC S.A. Joins Forces with Cadence Design Systems

CEITEC S.A. has entered into a partnership relation with Cadence Design Systems (News – Alert), Inc., the global leader in EDA360.

According to the alliance, the Brazilian chipmaker, to design semiconductors, will use a broad selection of Cadence electronic design automation products and services.

“This agreement is a significant step for both Cadence and CEITEC S.A.,” said Neil Zaman, vice president worldwide strategic sales, Cadence. “Brazil is a recognized global hot spot for technology growth, and we welcome the opportunity to help the founder and leader of Latin America’s semiconductor industry overcome technical and economic hurdles.”

“The agreement will allow CEITEC S.A. to advance its efforts in manufacturing chips for such key-growth applications as radio-frequency identification, wireless communication and digital media, Eduard R. Weichselbaumer, the company’s CEO, said. “We are delighted to team up with Cadence and utilize its world-class EDA solutions.”

In developing today’s highly complex integrated circuits, printed circuit boards, and electronics systems which form the foundation of consumer electronics, networking and telecommunications equipment and computer systems, Cadence technologies play an essential role.

The company is headquartered in Silicon Valley and has locations throughout the world.

To create state-of-the-art semiconductor products for high-volume markets that will be consumed in Latin America as well as exported to global markets is the prime goal of CEITEC S.A. By leveraging Brazil’s regional influence, leadership and economic strength, CEITEC S.A will accelerate the growth of Latin America’s electronics industry.

In related news, Cadence Design Systems has formed an alliance with IBM (News – Alert) to create high-performance integration-optimized IP that will help customers deliver leading-edge designs while reducing the risk and time associated with integrating complex SoC Designs.
