The subscribers of SportsBusiness Journal and SportsBusiness Daily have declared Brand Affinity Technologies, Inc., the company reinventing endorsement and celebrity marketing, Best in Sports Technology for 2010.

BAT’s excellence and outstanding achievement in the business of sports has helped it earn this recognition.

The voting body, comprised of industry insiders and avid aficionados, asserted their voice as part of the 2010 Sports Business Awards, established by the magazines’ publisher in 2008. For the first time, the subscribers were given a chance to reach a final award decision.

For introducing a revolutionary, technology-based approach and allowing corporate and media partners to tap consumer passion for athletes and celebrities that BAT was voted the Bset in Sports Category.

“To be voted Best in Sports Technology by such an informed and passionate subscriber base tells us we’re doing things the right way,” said Ryan Steelberg, president and CEO of BAT. “This provides tremendous motivation for our team to innovate new ways that connect passionate consumers with their favorite athletes and celebrities while driving engagement and building brands.”

In March 2009, BAT brought its Platform to market. It is the first company of its kind to provide technology that offers detailed insight into athlete and celebrity affinity in real-time, and across over 30,000 individuals.

To measure and evaluate information from tens of thousands of sources and determine affinity ratings which corporate and media partners use to make more informed, efficient and effective celebrity and sports marketing decisions, the Platform uses sophisticated algorithms.

Established by SportsBusiness Journal and SportsBusiness Daily, in 2008, the Sports Business Awards celebrate and recognize the leaders, visionaries and day-to-day practitioners who personify excellence in the business of sports.

In related news, Brand Affinity Technologies, Inc., has acquired privately held La Jolla, Calif.-based Beelya, a creator of authentic, virtual sports collectibles.
