Massachusetts, United States –Axio Power Inc. will develop a 2-megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic facility on a closed municipal landfill in the Town of Greenfield, Massachusetts. The Greenfield Solar Farm is a ground-mounted solar power project.
The use of landfill and other “brownfield” or industrial sites for solar development is a growing trend across the United States, as communities explore the use of more marginal lands in lieu of other open spaces such as agricultural lands or, in the Western US, pristine desert.
